Initial reaction β Maple is a strong contender for best in class
This is quite impressive.
After some light testing on code and science prompts, my reflections were that it is fast (>3x of GPT-OSS), concise but sufficient reasoning length, better at instruction following than other models this size and able to produce good quality outputs (code generation wasn't always optimal β but neither are leading lab models of 50-100x the size).
Functionality aside, it would be interesting to know about architectual decisions made, ethical stance on the training data that was used and a bit about the good folk that have been laboring away at this.
